"Beachfront" at Clearwater Beach means the hotel either sits directly on the sand or has deeded beach access across the Beach Walk promenade. Below is every beachfront option worth considering, organized by vibe. All prices are typical ranges — expect +30–50% in peak season (March, July–August) and Spring Break.
Luxury (typically $300–$600+)
Sandpearl Resort
The most consistently top-rated hotel on Clearwater Beach. AAA Four Diamond, Forbes recommended. On-site Aqualea Spa, adult-only sections, and Caretta on the Gulf — arguably the best restaurant on the beach. Ideal for couples and anniversary trips.
Opal Sands Resort
Every room has a private Gulf-facing balcony. Heated pool deck, rooftop bar, spa. Slightly less kid-heavy than the Hyatt or Wyndham. Good for couples who want the view.
Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach
Modern, upscale, tall tower at a slightly quieter end of Beach Walk. Good spa, multiple restaurants, kids' activities. Solid middle ground between luxury and family.
Upper-Mid ($200–$400)
Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa
On Beach Walk, right in the action. Family-friendly with a big pool deck. The Wave rooftop lounge is open to the public and has excellent sunset views.
Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort
Beachfront on the north end, close to Pier 60. Pool area is large and good for families. Four EV charging stations on-site (see our EV guide).
Sheraton Sand Key Resort (Sand Key)
Just south on Sand Key. Quieter beach, good pool complex, directly on Sand Key Park. Best for visitors who want a calmer base with Clearwater Beach a 5-minute drive away.
Marriott Suites on Sand Key
All-suite hotel on Sand Key, great for families needing more space. Beachfront, pool, less-crowded stretch of sand.
Mid-Range / Family ($150–$300)
Shephard's Beach Resort
On-site water complex, tiki bar, live music, multiple pools. A full-on resort with an entertainment complex attached. Best for families and groups who want everything in one spot.
Holiday Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach
Directly beachfront, mid-range pricing, reliable rooms. Not fancy, but gets the job done if you want to be on the sand without paying luxury prices.
Hampton Inn & Suites Clearwater Beach
Across the street from the beach with rooftop pool. Free breakfast, solid mid-range pick, especially for shorter trips.
Budget / Vacation-Rental Style (Under $200)
Magnuson Hotel Marina Cove
Small, older motel steps from the beach. Clean, no-frills, excellent price point. Good for travelers who'll barely be in the room.
Beachview Inn & Suites
Pool, short walk to the sand. One of the cheapest true-beach options.
Vacation Rentals (Sand Key + Island Estates)
Condos on Sand Key and houses on Island Estates offer more space and a kitchen for noticeably less than equivalent hotel rooms. Best for groups, longer stays, and budget-conscious families. Book on Vrbo, Airbnb, or through local property managers.

- Resort fees ($25–$45/night) are almost universal — factor them in
- Beachfront room ≠ Gulf-view room. Request Gulf-view specifically.
